Wheels Through Time
Wheels Through Time Museum located in the heart of Maggie Valley, NC, is home to the world’s premier collection of rare American Vintage Motorcycles. Located 5 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway, in beautiful Maggie Valley, NC, this All-American motorcycle museum houses over 300 of America’s rarest and most historic classic motorcycles.

Thunder in the Smokies

Thousands of bikers roll into the Great Smoky Mountains for the busiest motorcycle weekend of the year.  Thunder in the Smokies Rally comes to Maggie Valley, NC every April/May and September for a weekend of fun.

Tail of the Dragon is America's number one motorcycle and sports car road, with 318 curves in 11 miles. The nearby CHEROHALA SKYWAY is quickly becoming number two with its remote 60 miles of scenic mountain highway. The area also has other incredible roads like the DEVILS TRIANGLE, THE SNAKE, BLOOD MOUNTAIN, and some GREAT DUAL SPORT RIDING.

Cherokee Museum
The Cherokee community shows you how tradition mingles with the present, and the Oconaluftee Indian Village takes you back to 1750, well, the Museum of the Cherokee Indian takes you back all the way back to the beginnings of human existence here in these glorious, storied mountains. And because people learn best from stories, and recall best with stories, that’s how we bring the past to life here.

“Unto These Hills” is an outdoor drama that portrays the unique story of the Cherokee from a historical perspective.

Hiking & Walking Trails
Guided Hiking:- www.maggievalleyex.com
3434 Soco Road in Maggie Valley.  888-472-7238

Here are a few of my favorite trails,
click here for a list of trails

Waterrock Knob on the Blue Ridge Parkway Mile Post 451.2.  (moderate / strenuous),
This trail is 0.5 mile to the top, then hike back down to the parking area to watch the sunset.  It does not get better than this view!  It is very easy to hop onto the Blue Ridge Parkway from the cabin… just go back down to Soco Rd and take Soco Rd heading west for about 5.5 miles.  Take the Blue Ridge Parkway Entrance on the right heading towards Asheville.  Once you get to milepost 451.2, Waterrock Knob will be a turn off on the left… follow that road up to the parking area.

Cataloochee Valley Trails
Hike in Cataloochee Valley (driving directions attached) Great place to go for hiking and viewing elk. This area is actually a part of the Smoky Mountain National Park… but you can only access it through a back entrance.   Attached is the info on the trails

Sam’s Summits Loop Trail   - Perfect to hike in the winter!
Spend the morning exploring the perfect winter hike. Head up Hwy 215/Lake Logan Rd to access the Sam’s Summits Loop Trail, located in the Shining Rock Wilderness area of the Pisgah National Forest. As this area borders the Blue Ridge Parkway, it is often inaccessible via the parkway in the winter due to road closures, but the trail head for Sam’s Summits is accessible year-round. A free beautifully illustrated guide is available exclusively at Haywood Visitors Center providing directions, an overview of the area, multiple trail paths, and other tips for hiking the area.
